Code of Conduct

The well-being of every child comes first. F4 does not tolerate any form of abuse — physical, emotional, or sexual — or any bullying, hazing, or harassment, on or off the field. To support a safe environment:

• Coaches and volunteers are expected to complete background screening and any required safety training before working with players.
• All adults are mandatory reporters: anyone who suspects a child is being harmed must report it promptly to league leadership and appropriate authorities.
• Concerns can be raised confidentially at any time (see “Reporting concerns” below).

We ask players to:

• Play hard, have fun, and be a good teammate.
• Respect coaches, referees, teammates, and opponents.
• Show good sportsmanship — win with humility and lose with grace.
• Follow the rules of the game and the direction of coaches and officials.
• Tell a coach or parent if something doesn’t feel right.

We ask parents and spectators to:

• Put the emotional and physical well-being of all players ahead of any desire to win.
• Cheer positively and support every child on the field.
• Respect referees, coaches, and volunteers — they are giving their time to serve our kids.
• Never direct abusive, threatening, or demeaning language at players, officials, or other families.
• Model the sportsmanship we hope to see in our children.

We ask coaches and volunteers to:

• Make safety the first priority at every practice and game.
• Coach positively — teach fundamentals, build confidence, and develop character, not just athletes.
• Treat every child fairly and give players meaningful opportunities to participate.
• Complete required background screening and training, and follow all league and facility policies.
• Model respect for officials, opponents, and families at all times.

Games begin and end with respect. We encourage handshakes, encouragement between teams, and gratitude toward the officials and volunteers who make each game possible. Flag football is non-contact, and we expect play — and conduct — to reflect that spirit.

Conduct that violates this Code may result in a warning, removal from a game or practice, or suspension or removal from the league, depending on the seriousness of the behavior. Conduct that endangers a child’s safety will be addressed immediately and reported as required by law. Removal for a conduct violation does not entitle a participant to a refund.

Reports of abuse or an immediate threat to a child’s safety should also be made to local authorities.
